Didn't realize itd be a short sword, but great product

Its on me for not understanding / reading measurements correctly cause its a LOT smaller than I was expecting, but the reviews are what sold me. Someone said it made the "shink" noise when you unsheathe it and sheathe it and they were absolutely correct and it is the most satisfying noise ive ever heard. Bought it for a cosplay for the renn faire, and i had planned to have a sword attached to my back but this sword is too small for that. Its a perfect short sword to attach on the hip though which is just as good of an idea.

Real sword! This thing is great for an addition to a costume!

Most swords for a costume are made of plastic or rubber. This thing is real metal! A genuine rapier or dagger! While its a bit small to be called a "sword" it does live up to expectations. Perfect for a ren-fair or cosplay. Fun to use for the value.

Smaller Than You Expect

Yes, 17" sounds like its long, but remember, this is a Shortsword at the BROADEST definition. Its very thin, very small, the handle is good for one-handing but not for two-handed gripping. However, the quality is very nice, not highest, but good for the price range. I would recommend this if you have a smaller frame / are more lithe than for people with tall and larger body proportions (as I myself am a decently tall and heavy person). It would be good for a costume though! Especially if you dress as a knight with multiple swords!

Expect it to be small, but surprisingly put together well.

Very sturdy and the blade itself is actually quite sharp out of the box. WIth some sharpening it could be a deadly little stabby stab.Good alternative for Frodo I'd say. It is quite small but for what you pay for, it's worth the money no doubt.Good purchase. 10/10.

Short sword or long knife

This is a really fine SHORT sword (more like a long knife). The feel and weight are really good and I’d say decent balance, it also has a sharp and pointy tip so I’d definitely be careful on the end of the blade. The overall design is pretty neat but there are some very small defects on the pommel and guard of my sword but you can’t notice it unless you look for it. Though the size of it kind of breaches the gap between a short sword and a long knife, the sword isn’t heavy and the blade isn’t thick so in my opinion it’d closer to a long knife, but it’s still pretty cool. Overall it’s definitely a pretty good purchase.

Real Metal, Used for Stage Sword Fighting

I wanted the actual "clang" sound when my actors were sword fighting, so I chose this metal short sword. Now, my actors were not trying to kill each other in earnest and were following a choreographed fight, so I don't know how it would hold up under cosplay or LARP circumstances. (These are not sharp.) However, they lasted through 3 months of rehearsals and several performances. And, it was for comedic effect so the person using this particular sword was fighting someone armed with a traditional broadsword, which was much thicker and heavier (obviously). We still have them but haven't needed to use them since that production.

It's pretty cool!

Not a bad little prop for a costume or maybe even to hang on the wall. Looks pretty cool, light and still metal. A very cool prop.

High quality but smaller than expected

I didn’t look at the size for this so that’s on me it’s a small sword. Between a long dagger and small short sword in size. However still really good quality and the details are great.

blade is a little shaky but its a GREAT prop piece

Scabbard looks fantastic for the cost. The blade wobbles a tiny bit when drawn, but I'm not planning on using it for anything beyond costume use and my faire requires peace-tying anyway. I'd say if you're a smaller person such as me (I'm 5'4") this is a good small sword. If you're a full grown man though, it might feel more like a really large dagger.

Great small sword

This sword looks amazing. I can't put it any other way. first true swords are amazingly great at getting swords to you a day early! and the sword this Templar is a nice work of art to make any knight proud to bare it on to the battle field as for the length , duh its a short sword even says it in the description. nice point and not sharp so great for a collection. all in all i love this sword and look forward to buying from true swords again Still, it's an amazing short sword and looks awesome on your hip or your wall or wherever you want to put it.
